Bronx-born creative Jae Tips blossoms again with Saucony in what might be his most ambitious drop yet. “Flowers Grow Uptown” takes the ProGrid Triumph 4 — a tech-runner beloved in Saucony’s archive — and transforms it into a riot of flora inspired by the greenery of New York City. Four distinct colorways emerge, each channeling a plant local to the city: a red “Poison Ivy” that bites harder than its namesake, a soft pink and yellow “Virginia Creeper”, a purple “Perilla” pulsing under neon hints, and a bright green “Sugar Maple” echoing the leaf logo of the NYC Parks & Rec.
Jae’s sunflower motif blooms on the lateral panel of each shoe, multicolor floral tongue tags nod to the pack’s theme, and “Made By Jae Tips” embroidery on the lining adds personal signature. The heel counter reads “UPTOWN” rather than the usual branding — a declaration of roots as much as design. The upper mixes glossy leather overlays with mesh bases, stitching that mimics vines, and color blocking loud enough to pull you out of any haze.
Set for Fall/Winter 2025 with no fixed release date yet, each pair is expected to retail for around $160 USD. The drop will likely happen via Jae Tips’ channels, Saucony, and select retailers. “Flowers Grow Uptown” doesn’t just bring color — it brings life, identity, and a piece of community to the silhouette.
